Copic vs Shinhan Coloring

Hi ya everyone!  This is a comparison I posted on the MarkerPop Blog some time ago.  I never posted it on my blog however and thought I would today.  I used the adorable dragon from Lawn Fawn called Critters Ever After.
One dragon was colored with the Shinhan touch markers and one with my favorite Copics.  I was really skeptical about these markers when I started to be honest, mostly because I love my Copics and love the blending I can perform with them.
I chose colors that were very similar to each other from both sets and set about coloring.  There isn't much difference between how they go on.
I added my second color to both for a shadow effect and blended them.  They both blended very nice.  The Touch though seemed really juicy, almost soggy.  Not a bad thing necessarily but I'm not used to this, so if you look closely you can see a bit of bleeding.
I finished with light color and felt both looked pretty cute.  However, looking at the back of the paper you can see how much more juicy the Touch markers are.
Here are the final images...can you tell which is which?
and
In short, I think the Touch markers really surprised me.  They blend nice and are a great marker to perhaps start your coloring addiction with to see if you like coloring.  Honestly, the Copics are more comfortable as they are oval and not square, and you have so many colors to choose from.  The color chart that Copic puts out is organized in a logical way as well.  I'm trained to use Copics and not to use Shinhans so there is possibly information about them and the chart that I don't understand.  The overall blending ability and color though for both is equally brilliant and blends well.  I love how many colors Copic offers as well.

Metal Challenge at Whimsy

Hi ya everyone!  New challenge on the Whimsy Stamps Challenge blog today.  It's a fun one and will get you to use those stashed metal embellishments.  The challenge is to use metal and I did so with my button that's a bit hidden under the butterfly and also on the little brad on the seed packet.  I used a number of fun embellishments on this creation.  The stamp is from the new release at Whimsy called Vintage Seed Packets 2 which I stamped in Versamagic Ink.  The seed packet die is also new from Whimsy.  I used a piece of chipboard from Whimsy too, called Butterfly Swirls which I painted with acrylics.  Last, but not least, the paper is from the new paper from Whimsy called New Beginnings.  The lacey die is from Cheery Lynn Designs and the leave pattern is as well.

Some Bunny Loves You - Tiddly Inks Challenge

Hi ya everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means a new challenge at Tiddly Inks!  This week we are having a Critters Challenge.  You know it's spring, and that's when all those sweet cuddly animals, not so sweet and cuddly spiders and insects start to emerge and let us know the weather is getting warmer and they days longer.  We are celebrating at Tiddly Inks!

I used the adorable Wryn - Some Bunny Loves You image and sentiment.  I paired them with some adorable paper soon to be released at Whimsy stamps.  The die in the background is also from Whimsy.  The adorable arrow came in my Cocoa Daisy monthly kit.  All of my flowers are from Wild Orchard or I am Roses.  Of course Wryn is colored in Copics.

Happy Valentine's Day with Whimsy!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I know you are all are done creating for Valentine's Day and on to spring cards but I wanted to created one more pink and red card to share.  It's not a Valentine's Day card per say, but the colors are reminiscent.  I love this cute little baby image from Wee Stamps called Birthday Baby Girl.

I colored her in my Copics and then paired her with some adorable paper from Echo Park.  The lace tape you see is from Whimsy along with the adorable corner die cuts.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from 2 Cute Ink set called Happy Birthday to You

I hope you enjoyed this simple project today and were inspired to create your own project using Whimsy Stamps products!

Mini and Many Tiddly Friends!

Hi ya everyone!  I'm a day late and a dollar short.  Sickness has been running through our house and our littlest is now sick.  Aside from that, Christy of Tiddly Inks had a new and fabulous release of clear stamps.  Three of the four stamps are in digital form too.  The little ones I used above, Mini and Many Friends is a GORGEOUS set of adorable little mini stamps that are quick and easy to color!  They are only available in clear stamp, no digital!

So cute right?  These are perfect for those quick and simple creations.  I used my Copics and also a stamp set from My Craft Spot.  This card I made is a 4.25 x 5.5 so you can get an idea of the stamp sizes.  Check out all the new clear stamps HERE on Christy's blog!

Relax with Some Odd Girl's Fairy release!

Hi ya everyone!  There is a fabulous new release this week at Some Odd Girl and guess what, they are FAIRIES!!!  Super duper cute fairies.  So you will want to join us for the whole week...as you know, you could win one of the cuties for yourself!

I colored Relax Fairy in my Copics of course and paired it with this adorable Echo Park Paper.  The sentiment is actually a little sneak from an upcoming Tiddly Inks clear relase (Feb. 12th).  I used some adorable stardust stickles on her wings!  Join us this week for your chance to win this image and more at Some Odd Girl.

I love you MOST!

Hi ya everyone!  Today, we have a new challenge at Tiddly Inks.  You know, love IS in the air.  I love February for so many reasons.  Honestly, before I met my husband I really didn't care for Valentine's Day or February.  I had some pretty miserable Valentine's Days in the past and so I had soured to the whole idea of love.  Now, February is truly the best month ever; my husbands birthday is in February, our Anniversary is three days after Valentine's day and of course the day for love itself is in February.  For us, it's all about love!

I used the adorable image from Tiddly Inks called Love you Most.  I colored the image in my Copics and used the sentiment that comes with this Tiddly cutie.  The paper is the new Carta Bella pad called Devoted.  The hearts and crystal swirl is from Recollections.  The base paper is from Bazzill.  I love using Bazzill for my card bases, the colors are perfect and they are so nice and sturdy.  Make sure to join us for our Valentine's Challenge at Tiddly Inks!

A Wee bit of Inspiration!

Hi ya everyone!  I'm excited to tell you that I'm a guest designer this month for Sylvia Zet and Wee Stamps.  I have to be honest, I love these adorable characters that Sylvia the artist and owner of Wee designs.  They are simply the sweetest.  Since I'm a member of the Whimsy Magazine Design team I get to work with Wee Stamps all the time in rubber.  Did you know they come as digitals too?  All month I'll be sharing cards with Wee stamps on the blog.

The above creation was made for Issue 9 of the Whimsy Stamps Inspiration Magazine.  I used the adorable Fluffy Hanging in There and a number of fun embellishments including moon and star charm, ornate corners and the sentiment from the Party Mini Letter Seals.

Thanks for stopping by today and make sure to head over the Wee Stamps blog all month long!
