Proud Of You - Crafty Creations Challenge #83

Hi Everyone,
  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging everyone to use white plus one other color.  I chose blue because it is perfect for the cute image from The Stamping Boutique!  Stamping Boutique is also sponsoring us this week so be sure to check out their cute stuff and if you enter a card and follow the rules you could win a gift certificate!
  Now to the card.  This is actually a digital stamp that I printed in blue.  I wanted to color the image but thought if I stick to the rules then only two colors!  Therefore, this was a hard challenge for me!  But, in the end I love the effect!  Once I printed out the soldier with the sentiment I cut him out and then tore the edges using a straight edge.  I also used this great patriotic paper - I think it's from American Crafts (but not sure)  for the two backgrounds and again did the same tearing technique.  I cuttlebugged the white paper and soldier image with my new scrolls folder (which I LOVE). 

I cut out the stars from Hannah Montana cartridge in a blue paper and distressed them a bit with some shimmer mist and rolling them up in my hand.  Before sticking anything to my card base I inked with a nearly navy ink spot from Stampin' Up.  Finally, I added a little bling to the star center and tied a blue hemp twine around the fold!  Thanks for looking and be sure to check out the Crafty Creations Challenge blog this week - it was a fun challenge and the design team's creations are stunning!!!
