Underwater Reflections with Some Odd Girl

Hi ya everyone!
Today is a NEW clear release at Some Odd Girl!  If you missed all of the Facebook fun this week this will be your first peak at the new girls!  The set is super duper cute and there are so many fun elements in this 4x6 stamp set!
Super cute right?  I love that sea horse and narwhal!!!  But I decided to use the mermaid to help practice some light reflections underwater.  It's not easy really and I like it most of it on her tail and back - not too keen on her face as I put a bit too much BV23.
I used some fun paper from Bo Bunny to help with the underwater effect.  I also used the sun rays from another stamp set that will be shown this week!  Don't forget to stop by the Some Odd Girl blog and see all my teamies creations - they are awesome!  Then stop by the Some Odd Girl shop and get a set of your own!!!
If you missed our Facebook Fun day with Some Odd Girl, here is my tutorial for the paper piecing and coloring of the other mermaid in the set.

I hope you enjoyed this simple video!  Check out the whole creation below!
Don't forget to join us at Some Odd Girl!

  7. seriously, BRILLIANT. i love what you did with the light through the water! i also think the extra BV23 is okay, because the reflection could be picking up ANYthing around here. it's wonderful!

  8. OMGosh, I'm seriously picking my jaw up from the floor right now- both cards are stunning but the reflections on that first one are absolutely stunning. Makes me want to be a little ambitious and try it myself but I'm sure it won't look as good as yours! I always get amazing inspiration from you blog Melissa- you totally rock! Hugs, Katie
