Summer - She's A Sassy Lady Gypsy Project

Hi ya everyone!
Sheila at She's A Sassy Lady does a weekly Gypsy Made Simple tutorial where she teaches all kinds of wonderful things on how to use that Fabulous Little Lady we call the Gypsy!  She is asking that everyone simply attach a project made with the Gypsy to the linky right HERE.  This will help others who are beginning to use the Gypsy not only learn but also become inspired by what it can do.  Sadly, I lost a very close friend last week and that was my Expressions!!!  She is not doing to well - my mat is NOT feeding properly.  Alas, no worries as I do have an Imagine and I'm learning so much.  I used Doodlecharms (watermelon cut), Straight From the Nest (summer cut) and Best Friends (paper patterns).  I designed this on my Gypsy first using the Imagine application!  Hop on over to She's A Sassy Lady and see what everyone has been up to!

Birds of a Feather - Meljen's Design Sketch Challenge and Release

Hi ya everyone!
This week at Meljen's Design we had a sketch challenge - I LOVE sketch challenges because it's so amazing how everyone can come up with something different even following the same basic layout!  Here is the sketch created by our very own DT member Lauretta See:

Isn't it fun?  Here are the adorable new release images too which can be purchased right here at Whimsy Stamps!

I loved the little penguin with the bird called penguin's little friend.  I instantly thought of birds of a feather flock together! LOL - anyhow, I used Straight from the Nest for the flying bird.  I love splashes of red and with the blue Christmas stack from DCWV I knew the red would really pop.  I had that in mind while coloring my little penguin with my Copics.

This is a 5x7 card.  I layered my papers to match the sketch and cut my image out with my nestables.  I cut the flying birds out on my Expressions in various sizes and layered them, popping out one.  I also cut out this banner from Give A Hoot and stamped You Make My Heart Sing from a little Studio G $1 stamp set.  I popped the middle out and stuck the sides of the banner down flat to give it some dimension.

I felt like my birds were a little big and I needed to balance the card out a bit so I added this snowflake embellishment and some little buttons with thread tied in little bows.
Head over to Meljen's this week for the challenge!
Oh and have you heard the news??? Meljen's digitals can now be purchased already colored!!!!  This is awesome for those quicky cards that you need when you forget or are short on time!  They are adorable - here's a great example:

Also, NEXT WEEK'S RELEASE IS TOO AMAZING!!!  YOU HAVE TO CHECK BACK FOR THAT RELEASE - IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!!
Enjoy!

Many of the design team members are offering freebies and prizes along the way, so even if you don't plan on entering a card, come along and find all the tricks and treats."

Now, on to my creation - well creations!  I made two cards - and because I couldn't decide which I liked better I decided I would post two.  Now, I'm offering a treat on my hop - because I'm out of tricks - LOL.  Anyhow, I am going to purchase two digital stamps of my winners choice - Your choice of one from Simply Betty and a choice from Tiddly Inks.  I love Chirsty's stamps as you know and am starting to fall in love with Betty's too!  So I would like to share this love with you.  All you have to do is leave me a comment here and tell me what card of mine you like better!

For my card I made a standard easel card for both.  Colored Betty Witch Digi in Copics and fussy cut her.
Card 2

For the orange colored card I used a paper that had a little haunted house in it and cut it out.  I also cut out some transparency in a rectangle and with my Gypsy made a little window frame.  I also altered a bird from Straight from the Nest by flipping it's wing upside down and using that as a larger beak to make a crow.  I layered all of this and popped Betty out from the background.

For my second card I used the cartridge MiniMonsters and cut out the Haunted House.  I adhered all the pieces and glittered some portions to look spider web covered.  I then popped Betty from the page.

Finally, I pulled some wire out of one of my wired ribbons and threaded some cut out bats on the wire and adhered that to the card.  Oh, I also computer generated my sentiment and cut that out with my nestables.

Thanks for looking and joining in on the fun - I can't wait to see your creations! So please join in the fun.  Here's the hop order and if you get lost simply go back to Tiddly Inks or Simply Betty!

Below is the list of the design team members for both companies if you want to start with a few blogs and see some amazing cards----and maybe find some goodies along the way. The rest of the participants are on the inlinkz list on Betty's blog and you can find those starting tonight at 6 PM CST....please come back then to see other the entries. And also be sure to come back on November 5 when we will be featuring 2 participant bloggers. So much fun for days and days...:)

Now don't forget to read the directions posted above carefull!!!  Also, leave a comment on which card you like better here and at the end of the hop I will be choosing a person to receive one Tiddly Ink stamp of choice and one Simply Betty Stamp of Choice!!!

Enjoy!!!

Autumn - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi Ya Everyone!
Today, I went simple - but I LOVE the way this card turned out.  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging you all to make a Halloween/Fall card!  Now, this should be easy - the sky's the limit so to speak!  Any colors, any images, anything!!!  So create and enter - you could win some sweet bling and felt ribbon!
Ok, my card.  All cricut baby!  No Copics - can you believe it???  I used my new Straight From the Nest cartridge - Love it.  These little trees totally jumped off the booklet page and told me I had to make fall trees with them! LOL.  I have this great paper from Basic Grey fall stack that is perfect - there are actually little fall trees in the background.  I cut each tree the same size with the shadow and all layers using my Gypsy.  I simply adhered them to the shadow which I cut in a creamy white from the same stack.

I also chose the Autumn cut from Stretch Your Imagination and cut the three layers (shadow, regular and outline) in white, orange and brown.  I popped the front tree off of the card while leaving the other three attached.  Finally, I topped this card off with a maroon and brown crinkle ribbon from Prairie Bird Boutique.  Love this little simple card - please join in the fun at Crafty Creations this week!
Enjoy!
