Hello Rain - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are sponsored by the lovely Kristy of Some Odd Girl!!!!!!!!  Love her adorable stamps.


I set the challenge this week and since I'm in Portland and the rain never stops I get a lot of inspiration for this challenge - Rain Cards!!!  Either through an image or a scene show us the rain!  I chose this ADORABLE little image from Some Odd Girl called Puddle Hopping Tia.  Oh my gosh - isn't she cute!! I colored her in pinks, blacks and grays to match some AWESOME Echo Park paper I got recently!

I used a sketch from Card Patterns this week so I will also be entering their challenge.  Here is the sketch:

 I cut the scallop portion on my Cricut as I don't have a scallop border punch...I'm starting to think I need one - because this was sort of a pain on the Cricut!  It worked just fine and I was able to get it the exact size I wanted but a border punch would have been easy! LOL

Getting Hoppy Now - Crafty Creations Challenge

 Hi ya everyone!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are creating cards with Bunnies on them!!!  Our new DT member Peggy picked this wonderful challenge and I was so excited to use this ever so cute Bunny Card that I created using Meljen's Designs image called Cuddle Bun Buddies - and can be found HERE.  I also used some delicious Echo Park paper called Spring Time that I picked up this weekend at the CKC convention in Portland.  This card really needs no explanation.  I used my Copics to color the image.

Big Butt? - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!  This week at Crafty Creations we are asking our followers to make a card that will put us in stitches or has stitches! I did both!  I love this little Hearty Hippo from Meljen's Design which can be found HERE.  The first time I saw this image all I could think of was does this heart make my butt look big!  I colored him in Copics.

Cut the image out in my nestables and used the DCWV buttlerfly stack.  I added some stitching and then computer generated the sentiment!  A quick and easy little card that is so fun!

Mom's Day - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone - this week at Crafty Creations we are asking everyone to show us their Mom's Day cards.  The Stamping Boutique is sponsoring this week and I picked this adorable little flower cart.  I colored the image with Copics and used my new nestable set to cut it out. 

 All the paper on this card is from the Echo Park stack Life Is Good.  I love this paper - it cuts like butter on the Cricut and it looks gorgeous in general!!!  I love it - bright colors and fun designs. 

I added a bit of stitching for fun and to dress up the card a bit and then added the MOM sentiment also from the Echo Park set.  Please join us at Crafty Creations this week for your chance to win a gift from The Stamping Boutique.

Baby Blues - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging you to create a baby card using baby blue!  After seeing this adorable Mo Manning stamp in Card Maker magazine I just have to have it - it's called Sumpin's Wrong and can be found HERE.  I was so excited for this challenge because I would get to use it!!! I love it.  I colored the image with my Copics and used the same for the dots along the outside.

I cut the image out with my new set of nestables and also used some paper from the ever so sweet Whimsical Stack from DCWV.  I used the peach for a background to my image and placed it on some sweet baby blue paper.  I used my MS heart punch and did a small row and the corner.  I had a little glitch because of the width of my blue background piece but simply covered it with some white crinkle ribbon and then added this bow with button.

To finish, I used my Congrats! clear stamp on the bottom and added these silvery pearls that matched the overall hues of the papers.  I'm also entering this into the Mo Manning Challenge blog!!! This week is "OH BABY" week - how perfect is that!!! I always love when I can enter their challenges.  You must check out the design team creations they are super fabulous!!

  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging you to create a card for a ladies birthday in blues and greens.  Digis with Attitude is our sponsor this week and I chose this stamp called Big Deal Birthday found HERE.  The sentiment is also with this set.

I actually printed out two images and used one for the cake and the other I colored the entire thing.  I cut out the cake and used small pop dots on the top of it and adhered the plate  flat.  so it really looks like she's holding a plate with cake on it!  I hope you can tell that from the pic below.

I used some papers from a DCWV stack - sorry can't remember which one and used some blues from my cricut card stock for the background.  I inked everything with my Tim Holtz Old Paper.

Added a bit of white crinkle ribbon with a cake brad and some more of my little flowers with gems in the center.  Please join us at Crafty Creations for our challenge and you could win digis from Digis With Attitude!

Don't Worry Bee Happy - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are asking our participants to create a card using the theme "Down at the bottom of my garden lives..."  We have a wonderful sponsor this week - Delicious Doodles.  This image was donated for the DT.  Isn't he just so cute!!??  I colored him with my Copics, added a bit of white gelly pen and computer generated the sentiment.

After printing my image with the circle sentiment I cut the image out with my circle nestables.  I also cut out a scalloped circle in some pink from my Cosmo Cricket paper.  I did a ton of stitching on this card and used a number of floral papers from a Cosmo Cricket 6x6 stack!  I also used my new and GORGEOUS crinkle ribbon from The Prairie Bird Boutique.  I added some stitching to the center of the ribbon too.

I used a cute little flower punch that hubby had picked up for me a while ago to make these cute little flowers.  I added tiny pearls to the center and then a large pearl to the bow.

I love the colors in this card.  It feels so spring - and right now we could all use a bit of warm!!!  So join our Crafty Creations Challenge this week and show us what lives at the bottom of your garden!

Simple Thank You - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!  This week at Crafty Creations the fabulous Amy chose this weeks challenge - Thank you!  Great challenge right?  I love it - we all need thank yous in our stash and this really helps to beef up those NEED type cards!  The Stamp Fairy is sponsoring and oh my such adorable stamps.  She let the design team use a few!  This sweet little image found here was painted with Distress Inks...thought I'd try something different.

These are much harder to work with then Copics and I'm still learning.  I did turn to my Copics for his nose and foot pads.  Once I had him completely colored I fussy cut him and then used some cute Basic Grey papers from the stack Sugared.  They matched SO well the colors I used in the flowers (Worn Lipstick, Mahogany and Peeled Paint).  I  used my nestabilities and cut out pieces for the bear to rest on.

I added a tiny pink ribbon and stamped a Thank You sentiment from Inkadinkadoo with Walnut Stain and used the same to ink the edges of the sentiment and card.  Lastly, I made these tiny little flowers as embellishments!

Love You Bunches - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!  I'm so excited to share this card with you today!  I worked really hard and it took a bit of time - but I was thrilled with the results.  This week at Crafty Creations the challenge is to use three words on your card - "love you bunches" is what I chose.  This is a larger card 6x6 so I could add all the elements.  I found this ever so adorable stamp at Mo Manning's store (Digital Pencil Too) - and it's called Bunches.  I colored her with my Copics and added a few white highlights here and there.

Next, I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday (who's sponsored by Tickled Pink) for the layout.  I cut all my papers from a Basic Grey stack and inked the edge of everything in my Walnut Stain Tim Holtz ink.  Then I sowed each one to a background piece.  I then stacked the sheets according to the sketch.  I also computer generated my sentiment.

Lastly, I added some green lace and some adorable little pearls.  Tied some pink string that I also inked with Walnut Stain through some matching green buttons (This will allow me to enter the Mo Manning Challenge - Buttons, bows and lace) and added some Stardust Stickles to a few individual spots.

Red, Red Rose - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
  This week at Crafty Creations the lovely and oh so talented Claire aka Hope Jacare asked us to use this poem for inspiration:

A Red, Red Rose

So beautiful...so with that in mind I colored one of Claire's gorgeous rose images called Art Nouveau Vase 2 and it can be found here at Stitchy Bear Stamps.  I first masked these lovely roses and vase and inked the entire thing with my Tim Holtz Red Brick.  I took off the mask and used my Copics to color up the rest.  I also added a bit of smooch to the rose heads for an added glimmer.

I cut a number of My Minds Eye paper with nestables.  Added a bit of crinkle ribbon and used a few new stamps for the sentiment!  (one was a studio G and I don't remember what the roses were from).

Spice It Up - Crafty Creations Challenge

 Hi ya everyone!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging you to add a bit of spice to your life and warm things up!  Either with a project with coffee or hot chocolate or spice things up with a spicy color or how about a spicy food or maybe some hot embossing??  I decided to use my new Tim Holtz inks!  I love the Spiced Marmalade and used that and Fire Brick red to color the heart in this adorable Tiddly Inks character called All My Heart which is a Lilly Bean character.  I took an ink dauber and followed the tutorial from Tim Holtz found here.  I then took my water brush and painted the image using this technique.

 My paper is not good enough for this and I'm back to the drawing board to find a paper that I can print on and use my inks.  I paper pieced the large heart after coloring it.  I cut Lilly using my nestables ignoring the heart since I was placing the inked one on top.  I took a straight edge and carefully cut Lilly's arm out and then nestled the heart underneath.

 I then used My Mind's Eye paper to coordinate.  I stamped the sentiment Happy Valentine's Day with my embossing ink and then used a red glittery embossing powder and heat embossed.  I then inked the edges with Spiced Marmalade.  Please join us and let's get out of the winter blues by heating things up at Crafty Creations!

Celebrate - Birds and Polka Dots

Hi ya everyone,
  This week at Crafty Creations we are having a challenge and asking everyone to make a project with a bird and polka dots!  The design team has some pretty cute cards so please check them out.  We also have a special guest designing with us this month Nana Donna!  So be sure to check out her blog: Card Dreams by Nana Donna.
My card was simple.  I used a studio G $1 stamp and stamped three birds in differing colors of Stampin' Up ink, the word Celebrate and some music notes.   

 I then used coordinating paper from Stampin' Up.  I used my MS punch and added some crinkle ribbon using this technique I watched on She's A Sassy Lady by DT member Kimberly at My Craft Spot.  Thanks for stopping by and head over and join the challenge!

Baby Girl - Crafty Creations

 Hi ya everyone - Crafty Creations is challenging you to make a project for New Beginnings - new home, new love, new marriage or new baby.  I used this adorable little giraffe stamp from Pink Gem Designs and they are sponsoring us this week for the winners choice of 4 digis!  So join the fun at Crafty Creations - the new year is a great time for new beginnings!  This card is pretty straight forward and honestly I picked up this paper at a sale and don't remember the name.  I colored the giraffe with my Copics in RV20's and cut her out. 

 I also used my circle nestable and scalloped circle nestables as a resting place for my little giraffe.  I used a pink satin ribbon and a small blocks charm as embellishments. 

I finished with a small sentiment I used from piecing together letters from a set of clear stamps.  So, if you're up for a challenge with new beginnings head on over to Crafty Creations!

Winter Wonderland - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone,
  This week at Crafty Creations the ever so lovely Bernie set the challenge.  I have to say, I LOVED this challenge and this is actually the first time I've ever used a photo for inspiration in a challenge.  Here is the photo:

Pretty right!  I instantly thought of my beautiful stack from Tim Holtz called Vintage Shabby stack.  This is the quilted background paper on my card that is cut at 4.75 x 6.75 for a 5x7 card.  I then used my sewing machine and made a stitched border around the whole card with a white thread.  I used the Winter Wonderland cartridge for the trees and sentiments.  I glittered the background with my crystal fine glitter on white paper.

 I used more of the Vintage shabby stack for the trees and sentiments.  I also used my divine swirls and dots cuttlebug folders on the trees.  Finally, I used my iRock to add some embellishment.  I love how this card turned out and it was pretty quick and easy!

A Beary Sweet Notepad - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi Ya everyone,
  Quick post today - the challenge at Crafty Creations this week is to include a bear on your project.  Our sponsor this week is a very talented young girl who runs a shop called The Purple Panda.  She's an amazing budding artist and I was excited to use one of her very sweet images called Beary for my notebook. 

This is very simple, I used my scalloped circle nestable and cut out a lot of simple white paper with the largest scallop.  I then cut the same shape in a cereal box and my DCWV paper from my Linen Stack card stock twice and adhered these together.

I then took the Cinch and punched some holes through and put my rings in.  I added ribbon to the binding.  I colored my sweet bear with Copics and computer generated the sentiment.

I also cut him out with my circle nestables and adhered him to the front.

Ok, now the honest part - this notebook didn't work to well...the shape and the size of the binding made it hard to use like a real notepad...if I make one again - I'll use a square! LOL  Head over to Crafty Creations and join the fun - you'll have a beary good time!
