Wild About You New Release from Catherine Pooler Designs

Hi ya everyone!  I created this fun card with the upcoming release from Catherine Pooler Designs called Wild About You.  This ever-so cute stamp set will release Wednesday, July 22nd.  The stamps are designed to be two stamp sets.  You stamp the zebra stripes, then stamp the hooves and muzzle.  I love playing with these types of stamps.  I added the new sequins called Flamenco Beach.  I also used the adorable new 6x6 paper pad called Safari Patterned Paper.  Make sure to check out the  new release coming out on Wednesday!

Welcome Baby and a new release at SP & Company!

 

Hi ya everyone!  There is an adorable new release at SP & Company.  Most of these cuties are for the holiday season, but I couldn't resist turning this into a baby card!  How sweet is that puppy and little boy called Christmas Billy and Puppy?  You can find all the new release images right HERE.  

I also used this fabulous paper from Echo Park called Bundle of Joy and a sentiment from the Bold Sentiments I stamp set at SP & Company.  The image was colored in Copics, but you could use your favorite medium.  Although I didn't use any buttons on this project, there are a whole bunch of NEW and fabulous colors...and I LOVE those buttons! A cow jumping over the moon - Meljen's Designs Release and New Challenge

Hi ya everyone!! New release at Meljen's Designs!!!  I love this new little set too! 

Aren't they sweet!  Remember the owner and creator of Meljen's - Melissa has her own store now and all new images can be found right HERE!

The images are all so adorable - all of the sweetest Halloween, Fall and Christmas images are available now!

I used my new Lindy's Stamp Gang Spritz and Glitz sprays to color this seam binding - it's so fabulous!! I love the shimmer and the sparks of red in the spray - Love their products so far and they have GREAT customer service!

Also our challenge at Meljen's is a simple one - so no reason to not join in - Square and Circle on your card somewhere - that's it!!!  So join the fun!

Baby Love - Tiddly Inks Love

 Hi ya everyone!
  Well you know I love me some Tiddly Ink images and the fabulous Christy just came out with a few new images that are just darling.  Now, Christy has been doing a bit of shop maintance and there are a few kinks here and there in the system still.  So if you order images and don't get them please let her know and she'll be happy to remedy the problem for you once she checks her email!

 I made this card using the Tiddly Inks image called Little Bugg.  She's too adorable and so I colored her with my Copics and cut her out.

I then used this Melissa Francis paper that I fell in love with and used a nestable to cut out the shape in the lower corner of my square.  I placed this over another piece of paper from the same Melissa Francis collection.  I chose a soft blue paper that matched my coloring to accent the back of the card and cut these flowers out of a pink. 

 I used some thread to tie into my buttons and added a few pearl flowers too.  The seam binding was colored with my copics and I tied on a small charm.  I stamped the sentiment from an Inkadinkadoo Baby set I had and finished using my white gelly role pen for accents.

There is no challenge at Tiddly Inks currently due to the store but all will be up and running on Tuesday!

Baby Love - Meljen's Designs Challenge and New Release

  I'm sick - 102 fever...blah...so this is going to be short.  This week at Meljen's Designs we have a 3,2,1 recipe.  Three colors, two patterned papers and one bow.  Here is the adorable new release:

I made my card for a friend that just had a baby boy.  I colored the image with my Copics.

The rest is pretty straightforward - I added the safety pin to match the one on his little paper pieced diaper.  All papers are from Echo Park!

No Nestabilities - No Problem - A Tutorial

Hi ya everyone!
I am at She's A Sassy Lady again today to share a tutorial.  I love Sheila's blog because each day she has tutorials that help me learn new techniques.  I feel so honored to be part of her design team and want to give her a special thank you!  Thank you Sheila!  Now, on to my card for today.  I hear a number of people complain about the cost of Spellbinders Nestabilities.  I love them and am willing to pay the cost.  They make things so easy.  However, if you've invested in a Cricut you don't want to spend the extra money for more things that might not be necessary.  So today I've created a tutorial using your Gypsy and Expression - you could use Design Studio or SCAL too.
First I colored this sweet little bunny from Meljen's Designs in my Copics.  I cut her out using my paper trimmer to the size I wanted.  I'm not limited by a nestable size now. 

Next, I grabbed my Gypsy and using George and Basic Shapes created an exact match of the bunny rectangle using my Actual Size button.

I use this as a template only and will not cut this square on my Expressions.  Next, I find a shape I like to be a background edge to the bunny.  I like the scalloped square shape and chose this from Mini Monograms along with the shapes shadow.

I then lined each image together to make sure the desired measurements were accurate.

Then I separated the images and deleted the rectangle template.  I then laid each scalloped square out on my G like this.

I then chose papers that I liked to match my image.  These are left over scraps from a set of Stampin' Up paper (patterned) and solids from my Blues and Earth tone Cricut Stack.

I cut out my scalloped rectangles on my Expressions next and laid out my card.

I like this card already but thought some sweet embellishments would make it nicer.  I don't have a lot of flowers and pretty stickers laying around to match so I decided to use my cheap little punches to make some cute flowers and embellishments.

I simply punch out a few shapes in matching papers and layer them with a tiny bit of glue.  To the flowers I add small pearls to the center.

After finishing a number of these small embellishments I decide to use a bit of stitching on my card.

 I have brown thread already in my machine.  What I want to show you is how to make a nice corner with your sewing machine in case you don't already know how.  First, I adhere my pieces that I want to stitch with a single small swipe of ATG adhesive right in the middle.

 I don't want my needle to pass through adhesive.  Next I place my card in my machine and sew a stitch starting at one corner and feeding down to the next corner.  At this point I LEAVE my needle in the paper and gently twist the paper to the next side to stitch - never taking the needle out.  Your last stitch on one side is your next stitch on the next side.

Here is the final corner after stitching all the way around using this method.

I did the same to the small bunny image too.

After my stitching was complete I added all the layers and embellishments.  Now you have a look like you used the nestables from Spellbinders but you used what you might already have!

Ah Baby - Meljen's Challenge

Hi ya everyone!  This week Meljen's Design has the cutest release and all can be found at Whimsy Stamps right HERE...it's just so perfect for Easter, and babies and birthdays, and friends and well anything really!! I love this new release - check it out!

 The challenge this week at the Meljen's Design Challenge blog is DOTS!!! We want to see those dots!  Now, I made this cute little card using Cuddle Bun Baby.  I think this bunny image is perfect for a little girl baby card or even a birthday card.

I'm NOT going to tell you how I made this card at all today - BECAUSE on Monday I will have a full tutorial at She's A Sassy Lady.  You might say - so what, it's a card.  BUT before you decide not to check out the tutorial - those scalloped squares behind this image....

NOT NESTABLES!!!  I love my nestabilities from Spellbinders - I'll be the first to admit that they are quick and easy and I LOVE them....but let's be honest they are pricey - so I used my Cricut instead...and I'll show you how!  But you'll have to check back on Monday here or She's A Sassy Lady!!

Baby Blues - Crafty Creations Challenge

Hi ya everyone!!
  This week at Crafty Creations we are challenging you to create a baby card using baby blue!  After seeing this adorable Mo Manning stamp in Card Maker magazine I just have to have it - it's called Sumpin's Wrong and can be found HERE.  I was so excited for this challenge because I would get to use it!!! I love it.  I colored the image with my Copics and used the same for the dots along the outside.

I cut the image out with my new set of nestables and also used some paper from the ever so sweet Whimsical Stack from DCWV.  I used the peach for a background to my image and placed it on some sweet baby blue paper.  I used my MS heart punch and did a small row and the corner.  I had a little glitch because of the width of my blue background piece but simply covered it with some white crinkle ribbon and then added this bow with button.

To finish, I used my Congrats! clear stamp on the bottom and added these silvery pearls that matched the overall hues of the papers.  I'm also entering this into the Mo Manning Challenge blog!!! This week is "OH BABY" week - how perfect is that!!! I always love when I can enter their challenges.  You must check out the design team creations they are super fabulous!!

Baby Girl - Crafty Creations

 Hi ya everyone - Crafty Creations is challenging you to make a project for New Beginnings - new home, new love, new marriage or new baby.  I used this adorable little giraffe stamp from Pink Gem Designs and they are sponsoring us this week for the winners choice of 4 digis!  So join the fun at Crafty Creations - the new year is a great time for new beginnings!  This card is pretty straight forward and honestly I picked up this paper at a sale and don't remember the name.  I colored the giraffe with my Copics in RV20's and cut her out. 

 I also used my circle nestable and scalloped circle nestables as a resting place for my little giraffe.  I used a pink satin ribbon and a small blocks charm as embellishments. 

I finished with a small sentiment I used from piecing together letters from a set of clear stamps.  So, if you're up for a challenge with new beginnings head on over to Crafty Creations!

Sweet Little Monkey Toes! - Meljen's Design Challenge and Release

Hi ya everyone,
  This week at Meljen's Designs we are asking everyone to bling it up (rhinestones, glitter and stickles - OH MY!)  I needed to make a card for an upcoming birth and I decided to use an oldy but goody image from Meljen's called Monkey Toes.  However, here is the awesome Christmasy release!!!

I used my Gypsy and Cricut for the round cut on this card.  I then used some of my blue Christmas stack from DCWV and my circle nestable and cut out a simple circle.  I did the same with the monkey and attached them to the center of my card.  I colored the monkey with my Copics.

Next, I added some blingy rhinestones around the edge and stickled the monkey's belly!  Added a shear ribbon and was done!!
