You Deserve Good Things with Catherine Pooler

Tomorrow is the day everyone!  You will be able to purchase all the new Catherine Pooler items starting at 9am tomorrow!  I wanted to show you a way to use those items a bit differently today.

I created this card with the new Stitched Hearts die, Good Things mini cover, and the ever so fun Old Oak Tree stamp set.  I inked the clouds in Juniper mist.  I inked the Good Things in Sauna as well as the lantern colors.  The heart was colored with Rockin' Red.  A very simple design, that was perfect for Hubby on Father's Day!

The hubby sentiment came from the Ways to Say You Stamp set that is currently in the store.  Don't forget to check out the new release you guys!!

Shake Your Tail Feathers and Happy Father's Day!

Hi ya everyone and Happy Father's Day!  Last night we created a a fun and gorgeous card using the adorable Shake Your Tail Feathers stamp set from Picket Fence Studios!  Also, you have a little bit more time to take advantage of the 20% sale happening now at 7 Kids Craft Store.  Head over and pick up your favorite Picket Fence Studio stamps (excludes new arrivals).

We also used the beautiful Lindy's Magical Powders to create the background for our feathers!  We mixed and matched for a stunning bluish purple pink creation.

Last, we finished the LIVE with another technique using these beautiful feathers.  Creating a pendant or medallion shape.  This time we used Versafine Clair inks to show off the stunning detail in the stamp with a fabulous ink like Versafine.

I'm excited to share a simple masking tutorial with you today using the new stamp set Americana.  I started with the following products from LDRS Creative:  Raven Hybrid Ink, Americana stamp set, and Masking Paper.  I also used watercolor paper, a stamping platform and scissors.

I stamped the truck and sentiment first in the Raven Hybrid Ink.  I then stamped onto the masking paper the truck and the flowers so I could put them in the back of the truck and around the sides of the truck.  I then cut out the masks, especially around those places I knew I would need the mask.  I placed the mask over the truck and stamped my first set of flowers close to the cab of the truck.  Next, I covered the first stamped set of flowers with a mask and stamped right next to it.  I then repeated this process until the back of the truck was filled.  I also stamped once in front and in back of the truck with the flowers, again over the truck mask.

Once this was stamped, I added the sentiment.  I used a stamping platform because the watercolor paper is quiet textured and a platform allows for repeated stamping.  I didn't mind the rustic look though since the classic truck is an oldie but goodie.  I then colored my scene with watercolor markers and a watercolor brush.  Last, I chose beautiful papers from the Daisy Delights 6x6 paper pad.  What a beautiful set of papers!

I chose a green and a floral piece that matched my truck and watercolor scene.  I mounted the watercolored truck on a piece of green, then layers that on the floral.  I then added it to an A2 sized card.  I hope you enjoyed my step by step process.

Making Waves - Whimsy Stamp Release Day 2

Hi ya everyone!  Today is day 2 of the new Whimsy Stamp release.  I've paired a number of Whimsy Stamps products to create this card for Father's Day.  I used the new stamp set Splash for the sailboat and dolphin.  I also created the wavy background with the new stencil called Making Waves Stencil.  The white frame was cut on sparkly paper from the May Paper Door kit with the Card Maker Die set.  I also added the sentiment from two sets You're My Favorite and For the Boys.  All products are linked below!

A Father's Day TIE!

Hi ya everyone!  Well..I can truly say I'm exhausted.  I was hoping for a day of rest, but I don't think that's happened yet today.  My hubby was gone visiting his brothers and this weekend was SUPER crazy.  Without him, it was even crazier.  I can happily say that we made it to birthday parties, swim meets and work on time however.  The house is clean and super is cooking.  Can I PLEASE craft now?
Today, I'm sharing a Father's Day card using the ADORABLE set from SP & Company.  I've found that with masculine cards, for me, simple is better.  The Father's Day Fun Mini Stamp Set is perfect for simple and adorable!  I used a number of background stamps too inside the ties (chevron, medium dots and Journal this).  First, I stamped the plain tie and then used different colored inks to stamp in the tie.  Last, I cut them out and placed them on another plain piece of paper!  Perfect and easy for Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day

 Hi ya everyone!
  This is quick card I made my dad for Father's Day.  One of the things I remember most about my dad is his love of old cars.  I actually love them too now and can always appreciate a well kept automobile!  So when I pulled out my stamp collection and found this adorable car I knew it was perfect. 

 I used this huge black satin ribbon I've been hording in my stash - I think it's a bit overwhelming but I still loved it!!!  I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day yourself - either through remembering dad, spending time with dad, being dad, or just knowing it was Father's Day.  I have a wonderful husband who is by the way a wonderful father and he spent his day at the beach with us and it was a gorgeous day!

Daddy's Day - Tiddly Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
  This week at the Tiddly Inks challenge blog we are challenging you to make those ever so hard to make Masculine cards - and specifically for Father's day!  I decided to use the new image Lilli Claire Party Time from Tiddly Inks as she looks a lot like our youngest.  Each girl makes a Father's day card for my hubs but the baby is a bit small - so I make the front and she colors the inside for her daddy.  I started with my papers and chose Copics around that first.

I enjoy making backgrounds with my images and this week I stuck with a simple one and pulled colors from my image to added dots all around Lilli Claire.  I also trimmed out her dress ribbon to lay on top of the sentiment.

I think when it comes to a masculine card simple is best - unless you have a lot of manly embellishments and really I don't have too many so simple was the best for me.  I did add some baker's twine and a matching button.

The sentiment was generated on my computer using the Comic Sans font.  Lastly, I took a black 0.2mm Copic pen and added a little doodle around the outside edge.  I used my Tim Holtz Antique Linen and very lightly inked the edge of the sentiment and picture - almost forgot about that!  Hey, there are adorable new manly images in the shop too!  So take a look right HERE!
