My Friend - Card Patterns Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
I made this card for fun!! That's what I said for fun!! No special occasion just felt like coloring!  This image "Donna" from Tiddly Inks was so much fun to color too! The whole weekend has been rainy in Portland and that was the inspiration for this card.  Sometimes I have a hard time with my layout - so I turned to Card Patterns - they always have GREAT layouts and it's so much fun to see a sketch and turn it into my own.  Copic Creations is also having a challenge to use the color orange!  So I splashed a bit of orange in my image and in some surrounding flowers!  Guess who is sponsoring them!! Yup, Tiddly Inks!!
I colored Donna in Copics and cut and embossed her with my circle nestables from Spellbinders.

Next, I found this nice green paper that matched the background paper perfectly and used my Scalloped circle nestables. I then cut a flower out on my Expressions from Walk In My Garden.  I also cut a smaller circle out with my nestables and cut those into two separate pieces and mounted them on each side of my image.  I also added a small brown ribbon and a stamped sentiment.

Oh, the background paper - isn't it CUTE!!!  It's from American Crafts and it's called City Park - Woodland park! I love it!  Finally, I added some glossy accents to the umbrella, rain boots and rain jacket!  Thanks for taking a look and check out Card Patterns and Copic Creations for some great inspiration and a number of wonderful cards!!!
Enjoy!

For You - Sketch Saturday #114

Hi everyone,
I decided to try my hand at a Sketch Saturday challenge using a cute image from one of my favorite designers - Sliekje - who gives her stamps out for FREE!!!  You had to follow this sketch:
I like this sketch - it has nice clean lines and it's fun with the little border on the side.  I first colored my little kitty stamp with Copics.  The rest was easy.  I found some paper in my stash - sorry no name that already had this cute little border and just used that as my border piece.  I used my new Bazzill paper for all of the solids on the card.  I cut little daisy's from Walk In My Garden - shadow and normal cut - I used two flowers and one shadow for each one.  Next, I added a few buttons that I threaded raffia through after layering the flowers. I liked the look of the brown buttons so decided to do the same where the round circles are on the sketch. The sentiment was computer generated and placed on matching paper.

It was a quick card using this sketch.  If you get a chance check out Sketch Saturday and be sure to stop Sliekje's blog for some beautiful freebies!!
Enjoy!

Little Girl - Copics

Hey everyone!
I am so excited about my new Copic markers.  I've been using colored pencils to color my stamps but really wanted some Copics because of the vibrant colors!!!  So, I did it, I got a few markers...and ta-da.

This is my very first go with them - I have so much to learn.  But I really wanted to show you what's been occupying my mind the past few days!  The image is from my favorite digital stamp company Tiddly Inks.  I made the flowers on my Cricut with the Cindy Loo cartridge.  Once I had the layers cut I inked the edges and then used a bit of glimmer mist to make them sparkle.  I used my crop-a-dile to put in the small brad.

I had a stamp from a group of stamps about girls that I used - which seemed appropriate with this little girl.  Thanks for looking - and did I tell you that I LOVE COPICS!!!  Can't wait to get a few more to add to my collection!
Enjoy!

Garden Filled With Love - Feautured in The Chirp

Garden Filled with Love

What I learned - The card for this was supposed to just lay inside the outside portion that I turned into an envelope. The problem was that once I turned it into an envelope the insert didn't fit properly, so I had to trim down the insert...and cutting from just one side wouldn't work b/c it would end up lopsided. So I had to trim from both sides.

Just Because Cards
I used the envelope and card third row down, first one. On my gypsy I set the dimensions 8.75 Height the width followed, on the Cricut cut at 8 ¾. Once cut, I used an adhesive runner down the left side and bottom of envelope (make this as thin as possible) for the insert I made it at a height of 8.43, on the Cricut I would go with 8. The insert is too big when I cut on the gypsy. However, I just trimmed up the edges to fit! I also cut a few rectangles on the Circuit to place as background paper. The one on the card was 7.25 and imaged using the cut from JBC that I used for the card insert (again third down and first image – with a shift). The other background papers I just used my paper cutter and sized to liking.

Walk in My Garden
I used the hearts from the bleeding heart. The top layer was cut at 4.12 (4 on Circuit) and the bottom was set on shadow (however, I made them almost match the top layer, didn’t really want a shadow here). The garden sign was 4.12 (4 on Circuit). All stems were cut from 2.53 (2 1/2 on Circuit) to 3.68 (3 ½ on Circuit). The shadow function was used for the background of the sign – 4.11 (shadow of 3 ½ would work on the Circuit).

Create a Critter
The bird and all its parts were cut at 2.16 on the gypsy (2 or 2 ¼ would work for Circuit).
