Snow Globe Shaker Tags with 7 Kids and Mama Elephant

Hi ya everyone!  I made these cute Mama Elephant gift tags using their two new stamp sets and their globe die too!  There are two stamps sets called Snow Globe Bitties and Snow Globe scenes.

I created shaker cards out of each one by inking the background with Catherine Pooler It's a Boy ink and adding snow with my gel pen.  I also used a number of fun techniques to create the snowy ground during a 7 Kids Live at the Customer's Create page which can be found HERE.

Creepy Coffins with Imagine!

Hi ya everyone!  I'm so excited to share this project for Imagine today!  I love Fireworks! Sprays and I show you how I used them to make these fun marble pattern coffins.  I also colored my little vampires from SugarPea Designs in Memento Markers.

I hear that vampires these days sparkle so I added some fun Sheer Shimmer Spray and a bit of irRESISTable pico embellisher.  Want to see how?  All products used are linked in the description box when you go to YouTube.  Check out the Imagine YouTube Channel below:

24 Days of Christmas Event - Day 12

Hi ya everyone!  I'm so excited to celebrate the 24 days of Christmas with the Whimsy team and YOU.  We are on day 12 and if you've missed the other days and you need to know the details, just check out THIS POST.  There is a GRAND PRIZE and spot prizes, so make sure to join the fun!

Today, I'm using the adorable Lissy's Little Light from Elisabeth Bell.  I love this image, so much in fact, I made two tags to share.  Both use the same image but really have different looks once on a tag.  First up is Merry & Bright.
I used a number of red and green Copics for her outfit.  I used my Silhouette to cut the tag this time and paired with Echo Park papers.  The sparkly Thicker letters don't stand out that well but added such a pretty touch I couldn't help it!
For the second, Peace on Earth, I wanted to subdue my colors a bit and went for more of a shabby chic look.  The design is very similar but you can see with one image how you can get two very different projects.

I think you might have my letter figured out by now, but just in case:

We will also be running some fun SPOT PRIZES throughout
the entire event.  The prizes could be hidden here on the Whimsy blog
or on our design team member's blogs, so be sure to
leave a comment my blog post HERE and on the Whimsy blog  to be in with a chance to win!
Be sure to check back here tomorrow for more Christmas Inspiration and to collect your next letter!

Love You Pixie Tag

Hi ya everyone!  It's Friday and I'm here to share an adorable Tiddly Inks creation using Loving Pixie.  I colored her with my Copics and paired her with some Echo Park paper called Love Story.  The paper was a bit bright and I wanted some softness to the card.
I used a bit of Gesso to cover the papers.  This softened them just enough to add the cute Pixie and some fun and simple embellishments.  Make sure to check out all the inspiration today at Fabulous Inky Friday!

HB2U - Tiddly Inks Challenge NO CARDS!

Hi ya everyone!  I have a little Tiddly Challenge for you today and it's a fun one.  I love making cards and anyone that stops by my blog knows that I make a LOT of cards.  The challenge at Tiddly Inks is to create ANYTHING BUT a CARD!!!  I made a tag as we had a friend's little guy having a big birthday this past weekend.  I created this fun tag for him using the adorable Tiddly Inks Robot Holidays.

I first used my Tim Holtz Tag and Bookplates die in my Sizzix Big Shot.  I used a number of the fun sprays I have in my collection and the great new stencil from Balzer Designs - Tiny Circles.  I also used the awesome new Thickers.

I also made a simple video on how I like to ground images so they don't appear to be floating in space on a white background using my Copics!

I'll leave you with one last image of my tag!  Enjoy your week!

Whoooo forgot to post this fun creation???

Hi ya everyone!
And yes, that would be me, WHOOO forgot to post this tag using the adorable new Owl from Some Odd Girl called Owl-ween.  I think he's super cute all dressed up as a masked avenger for Halloween.  I made the little cape part of his wings, but you could color it as a cape to match his mask!  The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Black Onyx on Kraft.  The tag was cut using the Tim Holtz die, Tag and Bookplates.  I also made this fun sparkly paper and I have a tutorial coming up on Monday at Created from Color on how to create this fun sparkly paper using your Copics!  The fibers on the top where a mix from ribbons I've had stashed for a long time.  The crinkle ribbon is from Prairie Bird Boutique.

Some Odd Girl Tag and Copic Speed Coloring!

Hi ya everyone!
Today is my day to share at the Some Odd Girl blog!  I completed a speed coloring video to show her off a bit more!

I love the Nouveau line Kristy has added to the Odd shop and this gal - Renew - has truly captured my heart!  I love her and she so reminds me of Elizabeth Bennet.
I made this tag using the ABC Primer paper from Graphic 45.  The vintage look appealed to my vision of how Renew should be colored.  I added a number of fun embellishments from KarlaS001 etsy shop too.
I know you want her - she's a clear stamp and can be found in the Some Odd Girl shop!

Perfect Pear - Meljen's Design Challenge

Hi ya everyone!!! It's a NEW release at Mejlen's Designs!!! Woo HOO - I love Thursdays because each week we see five new images especially from Melissa for the shop at Whimsy Stamps. Make sure to swing by and pick up a few of these DELICIOUS new images:
Adorable right?  I love them all so had a really hard time picking just one - but I settled on the pears because I had this gorgeous Basic Grey Paper that hubby just got me and it already had a tag!!! Which is perfect for our Meljen's Design team challenge this week - make a Tag!!!  So I colored up these sweet pears with some Copics.
Cut them out with my circle nestables and set them aside.  Next, I took a pink sheet from my Basic Grey stack and trimmed it to about an inch piece.  I then took my Martha Stewart punch and lined the bottom of the strip.
I adhered that to my tag and added some ever so soft pink ribbon from my favorite place to get ribbon called Prairie Bird Boutique.  I also added a bow through the whole and a large cream button with green twine.  I added the pears to the tag and some soft pearls to finish off my tag!!!
Please head over to Meljen's Design and join our tag challenge!!!  It's so fun and don't forget to check out all of the new images and our favorite images at Whimsy.  Melissa is so generous that she has TONS of freebies here - so use your Meljen image and join the fun!

Whimsical Wednesday Guest Designer

Hi ya everyone!
Stephanie at Always Crafting has a weekly challenge called Whimsical Wednesday.  Stephanie hosts with good friend and amazing crafter Jess over at My Scrap Diary.  This week they asked me to participate in their new challenge - use a stamp and any coloring technique you would like.  I am very honored that they would ask me to share my favorite coloring technique with you!  I chose this cute Mo Manning stamp called Step Sisters.  It reminds me of my two girls so I decided to use this for my coloring technique - Copic markers.  I just started using Copics in May and love them so much.  I am not Copic Certified however and it might be something I will eventually want to do.  However, I'll go into a few tricks I use to color my images.

I typically start with three markers - sometimes they are in the same range for instance the pink dress on the older sister is colored using RV21, RV23, and RV25.  I always start with the lightest color RV21 and cover the whole image, then I take the next one RV23 and color the shadow region, then I go over this area with my RV25 then again with RV 23 blending into the lighter areas, then lastly with my light color again.  Often times I will return to the image with an even darker shade - R29 and do some extra shadowing to really make the color pop.
I used my nestable and cut out the image and place the girl on this little tag envelope I made using my Gypsy and Tags, Bags, Boxes and More - layering them on some cute paper from American Crafts.  I cut out letters from the word sister from the cartridge Nursery Rhymes and layered those on the tag part of the card.  I then threaded a cute crinkle ribbon through both and tied them together.

You have to check out Stephanie and Jess's projects.  Each used a different technique to color their stamps and they are just amazing.  They are so very adorable and just to temp you a bit - here are some sneak peaks!

Now, head on over to Always Crafting and join in on the fun!  Use any technique for coloring that you would like - just remember to use a stamp and enter!!!
Thanks for checking out my blog!
Enjoy!

Autumn Crow Tag - Meljen's Challenge

Hi ya everyone!
This week at Meljen's Design we are having a wonderful challenge - Tags!  I used Meljen's Design stamp called Autumn Crow.  Isn't he adorable?   Before I move on to my card - a few things - first - there's an awesome new release at Meljen's this week - take a look!
So cute right?  Oh my gosh - I had such a hard time picking something because all of them are too stinking cute!  Now that you want all of them - head over to Whimsy Stamps!!!  Also, if you didn't catch my post earlier in the week - Meljen's is now in rubber!!! For all you rubber stamp lovers - you will want some - and get this they are rubber exclusive - I think I might have to turn a new leaf and get a few!!!  Here they are!

Now, on to my tag.  I love the Autumn Crow image - and I was able to find some fun paper from My Mind's Eye called blackbird!  It matched the image perfect!!  I also used the Happy Fall freebie image from Meljen's.  First, I cut out a tag shadow and tag from Tags, Bags, Boxes and More, on my Expressions.  I layered the two papers.  Now, I took the backside of the Black Bird Paper and mounted my Autumn Crow and Happy Fall onto it. I then added a piece of black paper to the background lopsided from the Autumn Crow.  I added some swirly bling and took these leave buttons and added those.

Finally, I added some raffia and a black sheer ribbon with a leaf button to the tag.  I love the way this tag turned out - my daughter wants to give it to her teacher for a fall present!!  Thanks for looking - head on over to Whimsy Stamps and pick up a few and participate in the challenge at Meljen's! You could win some more awesome digitals!!!
Enjoy!

My Cup Runneth Over - Paper Cutz Challenge #58

Hi everyone!
Great challenge at Paper Cutz this week - use a tag on your project.  Lots of freedom and I love the look of a good distressed tag on any project!  Here is a small A2 sized card I made just because I feel like this in my life right now!  I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband and two healthy and happy girls.  This quote has always been one of my favorites too so I entered it at the Frosted Design Challenge - and this cute Lilly Bean image from Tiddly Inks is a perfect match!  I inked everything here with Close to Cocoa from Stampin' Up.

I colored Lilly Bean with my Copics and actually cut out the cup separately and paper pieced it on adhering the edges of the cup with adhesive and putting a large pop dot in the middle.  The cup bows out a bit which makes it look a bit more 3D.  I cut my tag on my expressions using my Gypsy.  The tag is from Celebrations and I placed a little tiny heart on the edge from Sweethearts.  Once I cut it out I placed it on the shadow cut.

The little heart that was left over I used to ink the negative on the brown paper under Lilly.  Once that dried a bit I took my Stickles - cotton candy and stickled over the negatives.  I also added a bit of ribbon to my tag and adhered that.  Once I was finished I popped Lilly Bean off the page.
Thanks for looking and please leave a comment I do so love them!!!
Enjoy!
