Hi ya everyone!
This week the fabulous Mary of Cardz TV has asked her Design Team at Paper Cutz to create a New Years themed project that includes a banner! I have been really short on time so I got my project done in the nick of time! I used a fantastic stamp from Bugaboo Stamps called Scarlette Party! Isn't she classy??
I love her long elegant dress and it was so fun to color. I used From My Kitchen cartridge to cut out the martini glass in acetate and a shadow in a DCWV paper. I adhered all the pieces and colored my stamp with my Copics. I made a little banner from my Give A Hoot cartridge and cut a computer generated sentiment with my nestables.
Finally, I added a few stickles here and there. Oh yeah, the background paper is from my Christmas stack from Cricut!
Hugs

My Tall, Sad, Skinny Snowman - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi ya everyone,
Paper Cutz is having a fun challenge this week - Mary askes that you use a snowman or snowflake on your project that is an image (digital or stamped) or a cricut cut and any colors. Ok, I'm not exactly thrilled with MY snowman. First, there was supposed to be two snowmen. I used the 3D cut from the Winter Woodland cartridge. I wanted to make something really elegant looking for my dining room table. Most of my Christmas dishes and decorations are red and white. Therefore, two long tall snowmen would look gorgeous.
However, long and tall don't really stand up all that well...LOL - so I ran the snowmen through the xyron on both sides and added this really fine cyrstal glitter. I love it but it's a mess. I added some tinsel glitter from MS to the trim of the hat. When I put the hat on the snowman he sort of slumped right over...so I doubled the cuts up. So this made him a bit sturdier, but alas I lost a snowman - and I had used so much of my glitter already that I decided one would have to do for now. I then had to make a base for this snowman as he still wasn't going to stand up straight without some assistance! I cut out a round base and glittered it as well.
I then hot glued this stubborn snowman to the base. Honestly, he still doesn't look all that great. I just decided that he's too tall - if I did this project again I would do two things differently. I would adjust him on my Gypsy to be a bit more fat.
I would also use some chipboard or cereal boxes to make him sturdy. I still like the base though and would probably do that again! Sorry, for the sad snowman - but this is what he looks like - and I added a bit of showy stuff to the picutres so he wouldn't look so skinny and sad! LOL Head over to Paper Cutz and join the fun!
Hugs!

Warm Winter Wishes - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi ya everyone,
This week at Paper Cutz Mary has asked everyone to create a Christmas card with two patterned papers. I chose two (the polka-dot and snowflake) from my Doodlecharms stack. Anyhow, I used the sketch over at Card Patterns this week too!
I colored this cutey cute snowman from Tiddly Inks called Something Warm (he's only $1!!!!) with my Copics. He's adorable with his little cup of cocoa. I decided to use the polka-dot paper as inspiration and on the snowman and around my new nestable I just touched down with my Copic to make little frosty dots all over to match.
For the upper piece of paper I ran a white piece of card stock through my Xyron and then used some fake snowy stuff that I purchased at my local scrap store to cover the entire thing. I then ran it through my embosser with no folder just to help adhere the snow a bit better. Lastly, I added a few snowflake brads I had in my stash and a gray ribbon! I then adhered the nestable cut onto the top!
Thanks everyone for taking a look - head on over to Paper Cutz and enter the challenge. Also, don't forget to hit up Tiddly Inks for some ever so cute digitals!
Enjoy!

Giving Thanks - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi everyone,
Anything goes at Paper Cutz this week - which was a blessing because I really wanted to make this for my house and my husband and I liked the idea of a new Thanksgiving Day tradition. I made a banner using my Gypsy, MiniMonograms and Cindy Loo font, an Acorn from Create A Critters and a maple leaf from Gypsy Wanderings.
I chose the scalloped square and plain rounded square from MiniMonograms and used the font from Cindy Loo.
This was inspired by Donna Mundingers Halloween banner found here. Once I had the blocks and letters cut out I popped the top layer off the bottom. I then used my ATG tape roller and taped all blocks to a maroon ribbon. I then tied bows with buttons looped with hemp twine and used a glue dot to stick them to the edge ribbons.
Finally, I found some recipe cards at Michaels for one dollar a set (20 cards). I wrote at the top - I'm thankful for: and each guest wrote what they were thankful for and hung it to the wall.
We will keep these and each year hang them up on the wall and ask our new guests to write what they are thankful for. This will allow us to remember our Thanksgivings and when hubby and I are old and gray we will have a number of cards to read and reminisce.
Hope your bellies have recovered!!! Mine is starting too! Don't forget to link your project over at Paper Cutz - there's no reason not too - it's anything goes!!!
Enjoy!

A Blingy Little Christmas - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi Ya Everyone,
This week at Paper Cutz Mary asked us to design a card for you that was Christmasy and blingy!!! I used a Tiddly Ink image this called bah-hugg-a-bug. I colored them with my Copics.
I also followed the Card Patterns sketch.
I added some sparkly paper from the DCWV Christmas stack I picked up and also used some sparkly Christmas tree buttons. I then added more sparkle by using Stardust Sparkles.
Thanks for checking out my card and head over to Paper Cutz and enjoy the fun! I also need to add that though you can't see a ton of bling it really does sparkle!
Enjoy!

So Thankful - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi Ya Everyone,
This week at Paper Cutz Mary has asked everyone to create a Thanksgiving card using buttons and bows! Had a lot of fun with this challenge as I love buttons and bows! I also love love love Thanksgiving!!! The food and the family and friends is just the perfect holiday to me!!! All of my favorites! I decided to color up a fun Thanksgiving dessert - Pumpkin Pie. This adorable stamp is from the Meljen's Designs newest release Pumpkin Pie Slice. Also, all Meljen stamps are half off right now!!! Colored the pie with my Copics.
I computer generated the So Thankful right on the stamp and cut it out with my scalloped oval nestable. I then used a few different layered papers and mounted the pumpkin cut-out on top. I took a piece of burlap stuff (LOL - not sure what to call this stuff) and put a little ribbon and a button with some hemp twined in it.

Caught A Bug? - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi Ya Everyone!
This week at Paper Cutz Mary asked us to design a get well card using a digital or stamped image or a cricut cut of something that flies. I chose a lady bug mainly because I thought it would be cute with my sentiment. This is an all cricut card. I made a window card using Sheila's (aka She's A Sassy Lady) window card technique by following her Saturday morning Gypsy made simple tutorial. I'm also going to link it up at her blog.
First, I pulled out my Gypsy and found a card base from French Manor and stretched it to a 5x7. I then added the sentiment caught and a from Simply Charmed (for both I had to get rid of other words using the hide feature) and adhered the shadow to the window frame. Next, I typed up the word Bug? from the font on Rock Princess and again adhered the shadow to my window. Finally, I added a ladybug from Create A Critter - I used the hide feature again and took out his happy smile. I cut out a card base in a teal blue - this is my stronger heavier card stock that I like to use as a base to make the card sturdier.
I also cut the base in a sheet from my DCWV Black Current stack because I wanted the front to be in black. I then proceeded to cut out the shadows to all of my shapes and fonts along with the regular shapes in various papers. I then adhered the card together using glue, pop dots and some runner adhesive - my xyron ran out :(!!! I added a background piece from my K&Co. paper stack that brought the whole thing together - this covered up my window portion but I loved the effect! Finally, I added some googly eyes and a bit of doodling with my white gel roll pen. Thanks for checking out my card - if you can - head over to Paper Cutz this week and join the fun by making a get well card for your stash with a flying thing!!!
Enjoy!

Aware - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi Ya Everyone!
My aunts are breast cancer survivors. My mother has three sisters and each one has had breast cancer. My mom has been lucky enough to dodge cancer. My aunt that I feel closest too had it the worst and had radiation. She has been cancer free for a number of years now and I feel so lucky to have her in my life. I thought of her when I made this card - which led me to think of all the women who deal and have dealt with this at some point, either by having cancer or dealing with a loved one that is fighting or surviving or dieing. Awareness is such an important part of this disease. All women should understand what being aware of your body can mean. Knowledge is so very powerful. So this week at Paper Cutz Challenge Mary has asked each of us to make a card for Breast Cancer Awareness.
I chose this beautiful image from Tiddly Inks - Dare To Be Aware. Isn't she gorgeous? For some reason this image spoke volumes. Cancer, radiation, chemotherapy ravage women - often making those that go through it feel ugly and weak. Truly though - they become more beautiful - strong - and inspiring and for me, this image represented that in some way. Christy at Tiddly Inks also has this fabulous Hope ribbon border and Hope ribbon background paper. I chose to use them all - what could be better then lots of pinks and reds with glitter! Oh so girly and perfect. I first layered the ribbon border on the side of the stamp and then I colored Dare to be Aware with my Copics and used stickles to highlight the ribbon around her waste. I fussy cut the side of her but left the other side square. I layered a deep maroon paper behind her to bring out the image a bit more against the ribbon paper.
I also cut out the letters Aware from Nursery Rhymes in black paper and stickled them. Isn't being aware beautiful??? Finally, I added this crinkle ribbon with a one word charm - unity. I think that is what breast cancer has done for women - we have united to be support for one another - perhaps the silver lining. Thanks everyone for checking out my card - head on over to Paper Cutz and show your support for the cause by creating a card of your own!!!
Enjoy!

BOO! - Paper Cutz Challenge!
Hi Ya Everyone!
This week at Paper Cutz we would like to see you use some shapes - circles, stars, and, diamonds/crescents! I had a bit of a hard time deciding what to do here - I thought wow that's a lot of shapes - but I went ahead and took a circle, star and crescent and welded the shadow of these shapes together on my Gypsy. Instantly I thought candy bar wrapper!
Don't ask me why - maybe because I'm always thinking about candy! LOL - anyhow, I then layered the word BOO! from Simply Charmed along with a grave stone and a little ghost from the same cart! This cartridge is so fun - reminds me a bit of Doodle Charms but the images are just too sweet. Look at the face in BOO - isn't that adorable?
I used a number of fun papers on the project - papers from Memory Makers Halloween. I laid the star and circle flat then popped the crescent moon. I also popped up the Boo. The head stone was layered and place flat and the little ghost was popped up! Finally, I added some crumpled ribbon - I am in LOVE with this ribbon - it looks beautiful no matter how you put it on!
Although, I don't really want to tell you where I got it - because I know everyone is going to start buying from her and she'll have to increase her prices - BUT, (BIG SIGH) I guess I will share - Prairie Bird Boutique - ONLY $5 for a bundle of three colors! It's gorgeous - my friend Nicole at Gotta Have Paper filled me in on the secret and My Craft Spot (who also sells the ribbon) has a great tutorial on how to tie beautiful bows. Now, don't forget to join in on the fun at Paper Cutz!!!

Witchy Bunny - Paper Cutz Challenge ANYTHING GOES
Hi ya everyone!
This week at Paper Cutz we are to do ANYTHING WE WANT!!! That's right - woo hoo! I decided to use this cute witchy bunny, bibble bubble cauldron and Trick-or Treat freebie - all from Meljen's Design at Whimsy Stamps! First, I fused the three images with Photoshop - I placed the bunny behind the cauldron just a bit and put the freebie Trick-or-Treat on the top of them both. Next, I colored all my images with Copics and fussy cut the image out. I placed it on some background and fussy cut that as well. Using my Gypsy, I welded a witches hat from Mini Monsters together for a card and added a small oval to one side - for a mount for the stamp.
I cut out the hat on my Expressions and mounted the stamp. Then I added some stickles to the hat and images. Lastly, I flocked the spider brown and added some googly eyes! Thanks for looking and head on over to Paper Cutz - there's no reason not too - you can enter whatever you want!!!

Thank EWE!! - Paper Cutz Challenge Red, White and Black
Hi ya everyone!!
This week at Paper Cutz we are challenging you to make a card with just red, black and white!!! Oh, I love this color scheme! I chose to do something fun - and made a little sheepy shaped card. I needed to make some thank yous from my little one's birthday party and thought these little black and white sheep would be perfect for the challenge too!
I used the sheep from Just Because Cards. I just added and extra wool and flipped it, so that it would be the top portion of my card. I welded them together in my Gypsy and added all the little layers. I also shrank another wool piece down to fit inside as a sentiment area.
The card was cut in black, the wool in white! Very simple - I then added the sentiment from Just Because Cards too. Once I had the pieces cut out I used my divine swirls folder to emboss the wool! I popped the wool piece up on the outside.
I added a bit of woolly red ribbon to the sheep's neck and stuck on googly eyes! Thanks for checking out my project and don't forget to enter the challenge at Paper Cutz!!!

Quiet the Pear - Paper Cutz Challenge
Hi everyone,
This week at Paper Cutz the challenge is to use three patterned papers...this is always a challenge for me - I'm a pretty simple girl and most of my cards reflect that - so picking three patterned papers for one little card is always difficult. However, I got this new fall stack from Basic Gray and well it was easy! I just layered them up - I chose a flower print and a pear print but broke them up with a patterned solid (the pattern is there I promise - it's sort of textured with a black or something - look close - LOL).
I had this cute stamp set from Studio G. The inside was just stamped with the pears and I used the sentiment on the outside!!!
Thanks for looking and hey don't forget to check out the Paper Cutz Challenge!
Enjoy!

Hi Ya! Paper Cutz Challenge #60
Hi Ya Everyone,
I'm back with another Paper Cutz Challenge. This week was a great challenge because Mary gave us a lot of freedom. The rules are simple use a digital stamp, rubber stamp OR a cricut cut of a critter!!! That's it, so there is no excuse not to play!!
I decided to make a card for my nephews this week. My youngest nephew used to call his brother HiYa. Apparently, it started because the oldest used to say Hi ya all the time to him! So cute right...and I thought this amazingly awesome stamp from Meljen's was just perfect for two little boys...and HEY THIS IS A FREEBIE!!! Yup, can you believe that this is a freebie??? I'm telling you Meljen's not only has the cutest stamps but they give out amazing freebies!!! Anyhow, on to the card. I used the cute striped paper I got at a huge scrapbook sale and I'm sorry I always cut off the bottom strip so they all fit nicely together...from now on I'll try to write it down first! Anyhow, I colored this cutey with my Copics, of course!
I layered them on two different shades of green Bazzill paper. I have run out of pop dots and just haven't made it back to the craft store or else I would have popped a few of these layers for some dimension. Instead, I took out my white gelly role pen and doodled ribbit and a few dots around the borders and inked the edges of each layer in Close to Cocoa from Stampin' UP. I also added this little brad to the front and back so the card could close using a bit of hemp twine.
On the inside a placed a piece of the striped paper first and added a white piece for the sentiment. Thanks for looking and I love comments and don't forget to head over to Paper Cutz for the challenge and Meljen's for some cutey cute stamps!!

Not so scary Halloween - Paper Cutz Challenge #59
Hi everyone - this week at Paper Cutz the challenge is OH SO hard. Make a Halloween card not using black or orange!!! WHHHHHHAAAAAAA????? But what a fun challenge - seriously I had a blast trying to do this. Earlier this week I posted the Ghouls Just Want to Have Fun Card - remember that - ah ha - no black and orange on that one too!! I've been practicing! LOL Anyhow, on to this simple card.
I cut the bright yellow moon out with my nestables and stamped trick or treat from my $1 G studio stamps in Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up'. I also used my handy dandy make-up sponge to dab some eery clouds over the moon in the same color. I then used a piece of purpley paper (really it's not black) from my Tim Holtz Ideology stack for the background and took my moonlight ink pad and the sponge and inked a halo of moonlight before adhering the moon. Next, I colored this sweet little girl I got from All That Scraps with my Copics and placed her on this little tree stump I got at the same place.
I cut her out and glued her down...at this point the card looked a little plain so I tried some bats - they don't look so good if they aren't black - LOL and so I just decided to stamp some little cobwebs in my moonlight stamp ink and stickle them. I added a bit of stardust stickles to her outfit too, did a bit of stitching with my gelly roll pen and then added this cute little spider button that matched with everything - see no black and orange!!! Please join us at Paper Cutz this week and challenge yourself - I know you will love the results!
Enjoy!
I cut the bright yellow moon out with my nestables and stamped trick or treat from my $1 G studio stamps in Chocolate Chip from Stampin Up'. I also used my handy dandy make-up sponge to dab some eery clouds over the moon in the same color. My Cup Runneth Over - Paper Cutz Challenge #58
Hi everyone!
Great challenge at Paper Cutz this week - use a tag on your project. Lots of freedom and I love the look of a good distressed tag on any project! Here is a small A2 sized card I made just because I feel like this in my life right now! I am so lucky to have a wonderful husband and two healthy and happy girls. This quote has always been one of my favorites too so I entered it at the Frosted Design Challenge - and this cute Lilly Bean image from Tiddly Inks is a perfect match! I inked everything here with Close to Cocoa from Stampin' Up.
I colored Lilly Bean with my Copics and actually cut out the cup separately and paper pieced it on adhering the edges of the cup with adhesive and putting a large pop dot in the middle. The cup bows out a bit which makes it look a bit more 3D. I cut my tag on my expressions using my Gypsy. The tag is from Celebrations and I placed a little tiny heart on the edge from Sweethearts. Once I cut it out I placed it on the shadow cut.
The little heart that was left over I used to ink the negative on the brown paper under Lilly. Once that dried a bit I took my Stickles - cotton candy and stickled over the negatives. I also added a bit of ribbon to my tag and adhered that. Once I was finished I popped Lilly Bean off the page.
Thanks for looking and please leave a comment I do so love them!!!
