Animals galore - platypus, unicorn and a peacock!

Hi ya everyone!
Seems like each week there is a theme on my blog.  It started with dogs the other week and now it's a bit of Wild Kingdom here at Melissa Made :)  Some Odd Girl has the adorable Kaylee this week strutting her peacock self all over the place.
I had a great time coloring up Peacock Kaylee and decided to keep my card fairly simple as I wanted the focus more on her.  Head over to see what all my team mates did with the fabulous Kaylee and then go get her for yourself at Some Odd Girl!

Welcome Baby and a Platypus

Hi ya everyone!!
There is just something about a cute little platypus right?  Am I weird because I think they are so odd that actually they are adorable???  Ok, maybe not straight out of nature, but this cute little guy from Lawn Fawn fits the bill for simply adorable.  He came from the Lawn Fawn set called: Critters Down Under.
At MarkerPop we have a new challenge: kids/school.  While this isn't really for school it's still for a little teeny one.  Hopefully, I'll have a good friend to send it to soon. I used chocolate baker's twine and he is stamped on Copic Illustration and Stamping paper in Memento ink.  I used my Copics for him too!

Reflection and Prescious Time

Hi ya everyone!
I've made some difficult descisions lately about what I have time for and what I don't...one thing I really miss is that I'm always creating for others and not so much for myself anymore.  I took on one to many things.  I've decided to step away from some things I love, but really miss things like an art journal.  I hadn't done a lot of this anyhow, but have really wanted to for a long long time.  Stress at work and stress put on myself by myself stopped me from enjoying my crafty side.  I've heard a lot of fabulous people rave about art journals and how they really do lift your creative side....
So, I did my art journal last night and it felt REALLY good.
I'm taking a fun class for art journals from Julie Balzer called 30 days in Your Journal.  It's relaxed and conversational and a perfect outlet as I have no pressure to create...I can do it when I can!
Thanks to everyone that stops by and reads my blog...I know there isn't always time to comment and that's a.ok.  I understand that time is precious and that it's easy to take a look, be inspired and walk away...so feel free!!!

A little goth for a Thursday!

Hi ya everyone!
Today I created a little door hanger using the adorable Tiddly Inks image called Pinky!  I love Pinky; her hair is so fun to color and I honestly love these gothic Tiddly Ink images for the young adults or tweens in my life!
Sometimes, it's fun to make something a bit different.  I have those great die-cuts from Spellbinders in the shape of pennants....I truly love these for all sorts of things - bookmarks, door hangers, albums and of course banners!

Each week at the Tiddly Inks blog we are celebrating some of the older Tiddly Ink images.  You must stop by on Thursdays to get a fabulous glimpse of each team member sharing a creation with an image you might not be familiar with!  Make sure to join us.

A Gorjuss Creation for a Friend

Hi ya everyone!
I have to confess I'm a Gorjuss fan :)  This adorable image is one I got from MarkerPop and it's a gray rubber stamp by Gorjuss called The Pretend Friend.  It stamps fantastic and I've just had so much fun lately with this line of stamps.  I'm sharing this card over on the MarkerPop blog today.
I paired her with a bit of My Mind's Eye paper and this beautiful ribbon from Ribbon Coursel.  I love the cotton twill ribbon, it makes the prettiest bows.  Of course I colored her in my Copics and I've been trying out a new paper, Copic Papercrafting Stamping Paper.  It's really thin, so it doesn't take a lot of ink, which I like.  It does have a tendency to bleed a bit but if you have paper underneath that you are willing to change out, it's actually nice.  I've noticed that it's harder to control my color as well, but once I got used to it I really loved it.
