A Bubbly Day

Hi ya everyone!  You are going to want to hurry and pick up the new mermaids at Sweet November from 7 Kids Craft.  They are only there for a limited time (one week).  Then they are gone again.  This one, Hanalei, was so fun to color up with my Copic markers.  I fussy cut her and added this sweet girl to a mixed media background.

For the background I used a Whimsy die and stencil.  I sprayed the background paper with Fireworks Spray and then added some white acrylic paint to the stencil.  Next I cut a frame with a Whimsy die an added the scales with a silver acrylic paint.  I then added the fun Crackle medium that Kelly has in the store.  I also added blue bubbles in the background with the Prima pastes.  The sentiment is from Picket Fence Studios and so is the background bubbles, stars and fish!

Join us at 7 Kids Customer Create for Live color alongs with the Sweet November creator Amy Young.  She is fabulous and walks you through each step of Copic coloring.

A Vintage Koala - 7 Kids Crafts

Hi ya everyone!  This month I decided to join the fun at 7 Kids Crafts and make Vintage Coin Artist Trading Cards.  I used the adorable new stamp set from Picket Fence Studios called I Wish We Could Hug.  You guys, these Koalas are SO cute and they are a bit larger than some stamps so perfect for those A2 size cards.  Artist Trading Cards also known as ATC's are a fun way to share your specific style, usually a Mixed Media, on something you trade with other crafty friends.  The theme this month is Vintage and Coin (circle 2.5")

I stamped my Koala pair on watercolor paper in Acorn Versafine Clair.  I only stamped once to create a more vintage messy look.  I water-colored these in Zigs and cut them out.  I then inked the edges with the Acorn Ink.  For my background, I used a print sheet from my old Sears catalog.  I used distress inks with a stencil to create the pattern on the paper.  Then adhered the Koalas.  Last, I added a postage stamp to the top and Prima Icing Paste with a stencil.  I then added some adorable pink lacquer dots to finish.

Join us at 7 Kids and on the Facebook Customer Create page.  You can find all the details there about these fun cards and how to trade yours with the 7 Kids community!  Also, did I mention that Mixed Media products at 7 Kids are on sale right now!  You can get up to 20% of Mixed Media products!

Love You - A Mixed Media Card

Hi ya everyone!  Today, I am sharing a fun mixed media card using the adorable Mama Elephant Stamp set called Flying With Friends7 Kids has so many Mama Elephant cuties and they are going fast.  The new release just hit the store too!  You can check them out HERE.

The elephant and balloons were colored with my Zig Clean Watercolor Markers on watercolor paper.  I'm learning to use these markers and so far it's been quite fun!  I also use a watercolor brush to move the colors.  I also took the balloon bubble one of the elephants are holding and cut that off to use as a word bubble.  All images were stamped in Versafine Clair Nocturne.

I also created this fun mixed media background using Prima Ice Paste in Red and Turquoise.  You guys everything is 20% in Mixed Media at 7 Kids too!!!  I used a stencil for the pattern.

Make sure to head over to 7 Kids to pick up your own stamps today!  You can join us on the Customers Create page too for lots of fun and prizes on special release days!

SugarPea Designs Sweet Peek - Day 2

http://sugarpeadesigns.com/blog/

Welcome to Day 2 of the Sweet Peeks at SugarPea Designs.  I LOVE today's release.  The city scape die cuts are truly amazing and so much fun to use!  There are two; London and Paris.  My first thought when I saw the Paris die was an evening out in Paris.  Who wouldn't want to walk around a city like Paris at night on a warm summer evening?!  I would love to.

I created the night sky with the little stars that are part of the Chic Wishes stamp set that we are also peeking at today!  You can see that in my picture above too!  It has so many beautiful sentiments.  The stars that come with the set are perfect for creating a night sky too.

Remember, all the new stamps and dies will be released in the SugarPea Designs shop this Friday at 6pm.  Don't forget to hop to each blog and leave a comment for your chance to win some of the new release!

Mixed Media Warm Winter Wishes

Hi everyone!  I've been so excited to share this card I made using these adorable houses from Tiddly Inks called Harmony at Home (clear stamp).  I created a mixed media background on Canson 140lb cold press water color paper.  I used my Twinkling H2O watercolors first.  I then took iRESISTable and did a crosshatch pattern for clouds with The Crafters Workshop stencil called Stencil Clouds, TCW230.

I took a white acrylic paint and painted over the clouds.  I stamped all of the houses down on the paper.  Then I stamped three houses on regular paper and inked them with VersaMagic inks.  I then fussy cut them, trimmed them out with my 100 copic and glued them to my card.  I took my Big Pitt Brush pens and went over the edges of the houses and smeared them with  my hand.

Last, added a sentiment from Whimsy stamp set, Holiday Mini Sentiments and added sequences.  Oh and I then I added the shabby frantage embossing enamel.  I love that stuff!!!

Mixed Media Love

Just a quick share today using the adorable stamp set that was available  through Simon Says Stamptember from SugerPea Designs.  I created a fun mixed media background with paints and stencils then cut them into strips.  I layered them and cut them with a stitched circle die.

I colored the koalas in my Copics and then sponged them with a cloth and colorless blender.  I popped them up on the circle background.  The background is just splattered with some twinkling H2O watercolors and then I used VersaMagic to stamp the small hearts.

You've Been on My Mind

Hi ya everyone!  I'm sharing a little something different today.   I wanted to mix my love of mixed media to my cards.  So I made this brightly colored creation with my VersaMagic inks, my shabby chic frantage embossing enamel and some smooth blending card from Hammermill.

I used my Night Sky, Turquoise Gem and Pretty Petunia VersaMagic chalk inks on a sponge and simply worked the colors onto my HammerMill Paper.  Next, I used The Crafters Workshop stencils to make some simple dots with my VersaMagic Midnight Black ink.  Then I used another Crafters Worshop stencil to make the background letters with White Cloud VersaMagic.

Lastly, I added my embossing enamel.  Then I took my VersaMark embossing ink and used a white embossing powder for my sentiment.  I love how this fun card turned out.  Have a great day!
